Everyday life of dead fish, and vice versa. “Dead Fish from Berlin” is an ambigram in sight and sound and a tribute to landmark short films, underscored by Erik Satie’s classical musical piece “Gnossienne No. 1”.
Marcel Alexander Back: born in Heidelberg, Germany. After his A-levels and alternative military service first film internship in Munich. 2002 – 2007: MFA Film studies (major), Social and Cultural Anthropology studies (minors) at Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz, Germany. At the same time first camera and film editing workshops, jobs in video stores, movie theatres, worked as a freelance film-critic, for the German branch of 20th Century Fox and for the TV network ZDF (Second German Television). Fall 2007 – present: Training and Studies in Film Directing and Cinematography at Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (German Film and Television Academy Berlin). Fall 2013 – Spring 2014: Visiting Research Scholar in Film Directing and Film & Video at the California Institute of the Arts in Santa Clarita, USA.
